The Medical Sage Leaf Tea contains a wide array of active ingredients which include: essential oils, tannins (rosemary acid, oleanol acid), diterpenoids (carnosol), and flavonoids (salvigenin, luteolin). The essential oils contain thujone, camphor, borneol, eucalyptol, and linalool.
It is thanks to this great variety of active substances that medical sage may be used to help treat a wide variety of problems. Sage has an anti-inflammatory and sweat reducing effect, thus it is also known for it’s sweat regulating ability. It is also recommended as a rinse agent against gingivitis and inflammation of the mouth and pharynx mucosal infections. Sage is one of the best herbs to help in treating respiratory diseases. Internally, it is also recommended against bloating and digestive disorders. Externally, the sap of sage leaves are suitable for treating insect bites and minor bumps.

Recommended Usage:
Tea: Pour 1 cup of boiling water over 2 teaspoons of the dried or fresh sage leaves, let stand for 10 minutes then drain. 2-3 cups recommended daily. Once cooled, it is also suitable as a mouth rinse to help treat inflammation of the mouth, gums, and pharynx. If only 1 teaspoon of sage is used to make the tea, then it may be consumed before the three meals daily to help treat digestive disorders resulting in an unpleasant feeling of fullness.
Infusion: May be used internally to disinfect the urinary tract and against enteritis.
Compression: For compression of the throat and inflammed body parts.
Bath: To help treat hemorrhoid.
Spice: May be used to add flavour to soups, roast meats, fish, and foods containing mushrooms.

Caution: Do not exceed the daily dosage of 6 g sage. Due to the high thujone content of the essential oil, it is not recommended for prolonged use. Breastfeeding mothers, pregnant women, and those with low blood pressure should not consume sage tea.
