Cooked Peeled Chestnut
DrChen Patika Oriental Herbs
EU €2.36

150 g (~5.3 oz. US)

Main Ingredients:
hulled, roasted chestnuts

Traditional Chinese medicine considers chestnuts as an important source of vital energy. The famous herbal encyclopedia of the Ming period mentions its fabulous effect: the tradition says a man was working in the woods when suddenly he lost his power and energy, he could not even stand on his feet for days. As he was lying right under a chestnut tree, he started to eat chestnuts by the handful and he felt his energy sneaking back into him.

Chestnut is considered in the Traditional Chinse Medicine (TCM) as one of the main sources of the living energy. It is also called „the fruit of the kidney”, because it resembles the kidneys in shape. According to the TCM, the kidney is the main energy supplier of the body, and it's inefficient functioning has a deteriorating effect on the whole body, bones and nerves. Therefore, it is recommended one eats roasted chestnut every day not just for enjoyment, but also for health benefits.
